Here are the books that arrived in my mailbox this week:

The Start of Everything by Emily Winslow is being marketed as ‘a stunning psychological thriller for readers of Tana French, Kate Atkinson, and Donna Tartt’. It is a crime-detective mystery set in Cambridge (tick) with multiple narratives (tick) and had already been on my wishlist when The Book Depository offered me a review copy (big tick). This is the second title from Emily Winslow, the first being The Whole World (2010).
Marking Time by April White is a title I first came across while browsing Tribute Books Mama. While there I made the comment that the synopsis sounded great, and low and behold April emailed me and offered me a review copy. See it does pay to leave comments! Romance and time travel… sounds like a blast.
The Rook by Daniel O’Malley (audio) is what I picked up with my latest Audible credit. This is the Aussie Author’s debut novel, and if you are wondering what the commendation from Jaye Wells on the cover says, ‘Part Bourne Identity, part X Men, and with a hefty dose of Monty Python’. Oh, and it has one of the best book trailers I have seen.
