It has been a very busy fortnight but a few books still made it into my home.
Significance by Lise Sonntag (for review)
The Girl You Left Behind by Jojo Moyes (purchase)
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (a gift for my bookshelf )
– George & Wilson, Smudge Publishing (for review)
Sweet Tooth by Ian McEwan (purchase – audio)
For those that have not come across the novel Significance by Lise Sonntag before (I had not before receiving the email), here is the synopsis:
In the middle of a freezing German winter, the chair of mathematics at a venerable university is murdered in an apparently motiveless crime. Inspector Falco Baumgarten of the Leipzig Polizeidirektion finds himself embroiled in a mystery that refuses to be unravelled, until a chance meeting with pattern recognition expert Professor Antje Bach reveals a series of connections that will lead to an extraordinary discovery.
When I read David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas years ago I was so blown away by it that I thrust it upon all my friends to read – so much so that in the end, the copy I read never found its way home again. Since it is my favourite book I thought it only fitting I own a copy. This new pristine copy will be going straight on my display bookshelf – I am not a re-reader.
