I come across so many wonderful books in my online travels – far too many to ever read them all. So I have decided to share the titles I add each week to my unrealistically ambitious wishlist.
If you share literary tastes similar to mine, the books that caught my attention this week might interest you too.

Came across this title while browsing the Melville International Crime site, always a good place to find something a bit different. Wolf Haas’ Detective Brenner Mystery Series is described as ‘one of the most wildly popular detective series in Europe’ .
“A must for crime fiction lovers with a sense of humor: In Simon Brenner, Wolf Haas has created a protagonist so real and believable that I sometimes wanted to tap him on the shoulder and point him in the right direction!”—Andrey Kurkov, author of Death and the Penguin
I came across a review of this title on Shelf Awareness and it’s unusual structure, described as a multi-thread reportage style novel, appealed to my curiosity. I decided to seek out more reviews of this title and Rosamund Urwin’s review cited below sealed the deal for me.
“It is Lanchester’s gifts for observation and description that make Capital such a riveting read. It is a novel in which every few chapters a sentence will provoke an “I wish I had said that” reaction or, when it is a familiar thought, an: “I wish I had said that so well.” … Above all, Lanchester should be applauded for a novel that is as readable as it is clever. He never attempts to prove his own intelligence, yet it oozes from every page.” – Evening Standard (UK)
