I have only just begun reading Dreams of Speaking by Australian author Gail Jones and I am already mesmerised by the artfulness of the writing.
Here is my teaser:
“Grief is like space walking. It is nothing terrestrial. Laws of gravity alter, and bodies tilt and float away.” p4.
Every page oozes poignancy, and thought-provoking observations. It is no surprise to me this novel was long-listed for the Orange Prize (2006) and short-listed for the 2007 Miles Franklin Award and several other awards.

Looking forward to reading your teasers!
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Just do the following: Grab your current read, open to a random page and share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page.
